On Thursday October 25th, Resource for London, the conference and events centre for London’s voluntary sector officially relaunched after a major redesign. There was a fantastic turnout for the launch by representative of the voluntary sector and included a ribbon cutting ceremony in which Jilani Chowdhury, Mayor of Islington, officially reopened the centre. The Resource for London will not only offer the most affordable, accessible and ethical working and meeting space in the capital, it will also offer on-site catering and a brand new café by Cooks and Partners, the most stylish and dynamic catering company in London.

With 16 meeting rooms the centre can accommodate events and meetings of all sizes including larger conferences and AGM’s. The centre boasts a conference hall with capacity for 150, two self-contained suites with main room, separate catering area and break out space, and four daylight-filled seminar rooms for up to 140 (or, when reconfigured as one larger room, for 250 attendees). It is located on Holloway Road in North London, just two stops from the national and international transport hub of King’s Cross.
Cooks & Partners will be using its 15 years of events and catering experience to offer an extensive range of menus including finger and fork buffet lunches, canapé and food bowl receptions and seasonal seated lunch and dinner menus. The team is more than happy to offer bespoke menus tailor-made to a clients’ specifications. And not forgetting The Resource Cafe – Cooks & Partners’ delicious homemade food will be available for all to try in Resource for London’s colourful and buzzing new ground floor café, The Resource Café, accessible to visitors and passers-by. It will serve a versatile all-day menu that demonstrates Cooks & Partners’ commitment to fresh, British seasonal ingredients sourced from independent farmers and committed artisans. A breakfast of Union Hand-Roasted coffee with a croissant or Danish pastry to tasty lunch of panini, toasties, boxed salads or soup of the day to an afternoon ‘pick me up’ of a Bakewell tart or a slice of Victoria sponge. Sample dishes include: Kent tomato soup with watercress oil; Thai crunchy salad with lemongrass, salmon and hot and sour dressing; Mediterranean vegetable lasagne; homemade Cumberland sausage roll; and Montgomery’s Cheddar, red onion and organic Kent tomato panini.
Resource for London is a not for profit enterprise run by Trust for London (www.trustforlondon.org.uk) a charitable organisation that funds the voluntary and community sector in London.
