Weddings in Full Flow for Summer

It’s certainly proving to be a busy month for Cooks & Partners, not least because of all the weddings.  Definitely not complaining as we all love a good wedding!

Last weekend saw our first ever wedding at Eltham Palace and Gardens, a stunning English Heritage venue set within tranquil moated gardens, and boasting a unique mix of medieval and art deco styles, making it one of London’s most unusual and exceptional venues.

Cooks & PartnersAlex and Mary’s wedding for 120 guests was a great success!  “We wanted to thank you and your team for managing everything so smoothly for us on the day. We all thought it went extremely well, and I felt able to relax feeling that both the essentials and the many small detailed special arrangements were being so capably and efficiently delivered.  I found your staff most obliging and helpful. We thought the food was excellent and were much complimented on this by our guests who plainly enjoyed it.  We all thought it was a brilliant day. Thank you again for your essential part in its success.”

The ceremony in the Art-Deco Entrance Hall was accompanied with subtle music from the pianist on the grand piano and followed with a Champagne reception and delicious canapés including Pan-fried mullet with tapenade on wooden spoons, Tandoori salmon skewers with cucumber and mint yoghurt, and Rare peppered steak and sauté potato with mushroom and onion chutney

Guests moved through to the impressive Medieval Hall for the wedding breakfast with tables beautifully decorated with colours of white and lilac.  Presented with a starter of Seared yellow fin tuna and rice noodle salad, Sesame oil and chive dressing with Crispy rice noodles; main course of Duck breast with a port jus, dauphinoise potatoes and spinach and followed with a refreshing pudding of Brûléed lemon tart with crème fraiche and caramel shard.  If guests’ appetites weren’t quite satiated there was the Cheese table filled with English Cheeses and all the accompaniments to keep them going while they danced the evening away!

We hope the very happy bride and groom are enjoying much better weather on their honeymoon in Southern Italy!
