On a chilly Friday in late November, Cooks & Partners teamed up with Eventim Apollo in Hammersmith to host a spectacular evening of fine food, bubbly beverages and first class comedy.
The showcase was held in the exclusive Eventim Bar, offering our guests direct access to their VIP seats where they would be part of Sarah Millican, English comedian’s, thousand strong audience. While the Apollo offered drinks from their luminescent bar, we got creative with the food at a live station, allowing guests to observe the process from start to fork in mouth.
We gathered inspiration from the low-lit green-hued room by choosing a winter garden theme. Our main serving point was decorated using fresh vegetables, plants and herbs, with pine cones occupying the remaining surfaces. Canapé trays continued the theme with dehydrated moss and faux plants.
Our menu of the evening included:
Spiced crispy Gresham duck salad with a chilli wonton shard
Black sesame cone with kimchi cabbage, micro cress, green mango and crispy rice
Acorn fed spicy chorizo and pork roll with red aioli
Wild mushroom arancini with roasted garlic, thyme and lemon butter sauce
Tikka spice salted cod and monkfish koftas on a skewer with cucumber raita

Sussex pumpkin and Shropshire Blue cheese risotto with roasted pecans and rosemary
Pan fried sea bass on hickory smoked sweet potato cake and wilted spinach
Chinese spiced pork belly with wok fried greens and a sweet plum sauce
Mini lime ice-creams with coconut shavings
Salted caramel lollipops with a chocolate covering
Mini apple doughnuts with custard pipettes
Guests were then treated to bags of Roast Chicken & Thyme popcorn to enjoy during Millican’s first half of the show.
9 o’clock saw guests tumbling back into the room, red-faced from laughing and in need of good bubbly top-up. During the interval, sweet canapés were passed theatre- style on an usherette tray and a second round of Orange Blossom & Honey popcorn was offered from baskets before guests made their way back to the impressive auditorium for the last half of the show.
We even bumped into Phillip Schofield while distributing popcorn in the VIP area and couldn’t help but offer the Silver Fox and his wife a bag of our delicious popcorn.

Our guests concluded that they would definitely consider Eventim Apollo for their next event, most notably for awards dinners and large corporate parties.
All in all, a wonderful evening was had and our team was immensely pleased with the turnout and feedback.
